Winter Wonderland

Bernie Dexter Osterley dress in Winter Wonderland print 002

I think it's going to be very hard to top this outfit here.  I love every little thing about it!  Bernie Dexter has the greatest cuts with the most fabulous prints.  The minute I saw her winter print I knew it had to be mine.  I had been waiting until the day after Thanksgiving to break it out and I've been wearing it constantly ever since.  Here in southern California we don't have very many cold days, but that doesn't mean I can't dress the part (and without the crazy layers)!

My friends Shaun and Lisa live just up the street but their home during the holidays is madness.  They live on what us locals call "Candy Cane Lane", where every home on the street goes all out with light displays.  The traffic this time of year is insane, just this past Saturday night the wait was over thirty minutes by car.  Kevin, Bianca, and I walked to their house on Friday night to enjoy the festivities, see the lights, and watch the Ducks game on their garage door via projector.  But the week before that, they let me on their lawn to take these pictures.  The chances of snow in my area is almost impossible, but it's nice to pretend for an afternoon.

I feel like I'm starting to get excited about my birthday (it's next week).  Last year I barely even noticed I had one, only because I was ridiculously pregnant and was hoping it would be over.  I'm looking forward to going out to dinner with Kevin and having a little baby free time.  It's very much needed!

I am still uploading and adding new items to my shop!  I'm trying to keep the prices super low because I'm looking to make some space in my overflowing closet.  Click HERE to see what I've got up!

xoxo

  3. You look stunning! This dress is phenomenal. I am blown away by it! I wish I lived some where that snow never happened!

Also I am sad that your polka dot dress sold (didn't even see it up) 'cause I loved that dress!! It was surprisingly flattering! Now if I can convince myself that I need another sequin dress...

  7. Oh my goodness you look like a snow queen, my dear! What a fun and funky pattern for a dress but it is soo you. Weird question but is that snow on the ground? I don't know why but I thought you lived in a moderately warm place and didn't expect to see snow! And I remember watching an episode on New Girl about Candy Cane Lane! How fun! :)

    1. Thank you Olivia! Haha, not a weird question at all. It's fake snow! That's the only way to get that wintery feel out here in LA.

  10. Are you only allowed to buy a house on that road if you sign a contract agreeing to have a huge Christmas display once a year?! I love the idea of a street like that though and it's perfectly fitting that you would wear this dress there. It is so perfect! Especially with that stole. Suddenly my festive outfit post feels rather unseasonable..! CC x

    1. I know, it's kind of crazy but the neighborhood is so friendly and you can tell they definitely bond over it. I'm sure your festive outfit is AMAZING, as always :).

  11. Love these pictures!!! I've been waiting to find somewhere really nice like this to take pictures with my Bernie but so far no luck haha. Edwin and I are going to Big Bear at the end of January but I don't want to wait that long! :p Looking beautiful like always! P.S. I totally want to live on a "Candy Cane Lane" type street one day...
