Belle Blossom

Bernie Dexter Belle dress in Pink Blossom 003

Yep, I know we're in the middle of November.  Unfortunately, the heat is very much still here.  It isn't miserable but it does mean I'll still be wearing summer worthy clothing.  That doesn't bother me at all though.  I love me some floral prints!  Even if it were snowing, I'd probably just add more layers to this ensemble.

Sammi was nice enough to let me borrow this dress and I couldn't possibly love it more.  It's a halter dress and I usually hate the way that cut looks on me.  I can overlook a halter if the print is to die for.  And guess what?  This pink blossom print is one of my favorites!

I'm wearing my hair straight here because I let it dry naturally and didn't have time to do anything else to it.  I like that my hair can look presentable with no effort but I absolutely hate straight hair.  Since having Bianca I lost about 50% of the thickness and it's now slowly growing back.  Until it all grows out to one length, I'll have to deal with really thin hair.  I get self conscious because it looks sad when it's straight.  Thankfully, my trusty flower crown acts as a security blanket and makes me feel a bit better about it.

A special thanks to everyone who gave me advice about using sponge rollers in my last post.  I'm currently working on them today.  Hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon and I'll never have to use a curling iron again!

  1. We always want the opposite of what we have right... speaking as someone who has naturally fluffy, wavy hair who would love for it to be straight! I feel sad hearing that your hair loss bothers you so much - but I completely understand as I'm sure I'd feel exactly the same way. For the record though, I still think you look gorgeous here and that your straight hair looks lovely on you. And a flower crown never hurts - just makes the whole look perfectly girly and romantic, as usual :) CC x

  2. I love this dress on you (for some reason, it didn't look right with a petticoat on me though!), and the floral crown is perfect with it. And I like your hair straight! I wish I could wear mine "natural," but I always have to do *something* with it. Let me know how you do with foam rollers, because I've never tried them and would like to not spend 45 minutes curling mine...

  3. Love that print! It's perfect with your flower crown. I think your hair looks cute straight, but I totally understand your frustration with the diminished thickness (my hair is growing out to its natural thickness after a lot of bad breakage from months ago!) The human body does such unpredictable things as a response to pregnancy - my mom's eyebrows changed shape and color after she had me and never returned to how they were before!

  5. I lost a bunch of hair while I was pregnant and it's finally starting to get thicker again; I hope yours grows fast! I know what it's like to not have the hair you're used to and loved! You look gorgeous, though; that print is to die for, and it looks perfect with your hair and the flower crown!

  10. Lovely look! The polka dots are nice pairing with the floral. I love how over-the-top girly this is, but still down to earth enough to wear every day. And I'm with you on the stick straight hair - mine is straight as can be, and it just looks so blah and flat without a little curling or teasing or something.

Have you tried using Biotin or Mane n Tail to thicken your hair back up?
