Feeling It Ride Now

Modcloth Right Here Ride Now Dress

It's crazy that the last time I wore this dress I was a week away from having Bianca.  I think it fit much better then, but it's still really functional while breastfeeding (sorry if you think that's TMI).  I love the print so I think this one will be hard to give up in the future.  Until then I'll enjoy it as much as I can!

Dress- Modcloth (remixed)
Cardigan- Kohl's
Shoes- c/o Deb Shops
Flower crown- giveaway win

Since I've been kind of obsessed with adding accessories to my outfits I consider this one a fail.  With the bicycle print, the embellished cardigan, and the bright flats, I decided that I didn't need to add much more.  Except the flower crown of course.  I won it years ago and love to break it out in the spring.

I feel like venting a little so I'm going to do it right here :).  I normally don't get too heated when people judge my parenting decisions.  To those who don't have kids, once you have them people automatically feel the need to tell you how to raise them.  I take everyone's opinions in stride but ultimately go with my instinct.  What I'm getting tired of?  People telling me to have another child!  Bianca is only sixteen weeks old and that's the last thing on my mind.  But honestly, I really don't think I want another.  I hear everything from "it's selfish to only have one child" to "you only have a couple of decent child bearing years left".  Seriously.  While I understand you're looking out for her best interests, I really don't want to hear any of it.  And IF I ever get "baby fever" again, I want to adopt a child internationally.  It's something I've been passionate about before I even wanted a child of my own.  I don't even want to get into the judgements I hear about that (which I think is insane).  So let's have Bianca be the star of the show for now.  I couldn't imagine sharing my love with anyone else anyway!

  1. You are so precious! Love the print and those flats are adorable.

Also, I can't believe that people are already telling you to have another baby! That is so crazy to me. I don't know why people think it's ok to constantly state their opinions regarding pregnancy. I know it can be tough to do, but you've just got to ignore those kind of comments because you and Kevin will do what's best for your family!

PS I am an only child and had a perfect childhood and grew up well adjusted! Why are people so judgmental?!

    1. Thank you! I'm not an only child but I don't see why people think it's such a crime to be one. If anything I think you'd get more love and attention from your parents. People are just crazy.

  2. Came here for the adorable bicycle-print dress. Stayed for the impeccable styling. And your hair. So gorgeous.

And I totally share your outrage about raising an only child. I was an only child until I was 21. It was great and I love being so close to my parents. That said, I also love having my little brother and sister in my life. Not to mention how my family has grown because of remarriages and step-cousins and beyond. There are lots of ways to have a family.

  4. WTF, people. Beyond that fact that it is rude beyond belief to be lecturing someone on how to raise a kid.... what an utterly, UTTERLY bizarre thing to be saying to someone who just had a kid ( I mean, how many kids you have should be up to you, but even if you did want 50 of them, what strange, strange timing).

On a much brighter note, this is a fun print and you look darling with it belted.

  6. People suggesting another child already? People are always pushing their opinions on others - especially when they have NO business (e.g. child bearing/rearing). Do whatever is right for you!

Love all the colours together - beautiful for spring!

  7. You look beautiful and I love all the accessorizing! And ugh, people and their "well-intentioned" opinions on your life are the worst!

  8. I love this dress with your hair, but then again, I think that's any dress with your hair.

Also this post makes me realize how stupid people are. I know I holla'd at you on twitter, but f da haters! You and Kevin are amazing people/parents and are doing what you know is right and that's important. Plus as someone with tons of siblings and split families, I have to say, being an only child would've been a lot less selfish than having kids. Also I love that you are writing more "deep" posts lately!

  9. Bicycle dress!! :insert heart eyed emoji here:: lol

Nobody has a right to lecture you on having another child. Who could possibly think that's an okay thing to say?! People are idiots.

  10. Oh jeez, people are telling you to have more kids already??? That's insane! I'm sorry people keep pressuring you. That would be hard. I definitely want to have more kids (lots of kids, I hope) but I'm SO not ready to even think about more right now! I think adopting internationally is such a wonderful idea, and I hope (eventually) you get to do that! But seriously, you should definitely get to take your time to enjoy Bianca growing up as long as you want, and have kids however you choose, when YOU choose to have them (whether it be biologically or adopted.)

Anyway! Haha! That dress looks like it'd be so hard to give up! Everything I wear is usually breastfeeding friendly because I'm too lazy to wear something I have to change out of between feedings. I admire you for wearing stuff that might make it more difficult to breastfeed! The pattern on this is so cute.
