Flower Child

orangeskirta

So I'm going to step outside of the box for a minute.  If you know me, you will probably say I'm not a free spirited flower child.  It's true!  I tend to be uptight, incredibly organized, and aware of everyone and everything around me.  I have a life full of rituals and routines and I couldn't imagine myself any other way.  People may see it as weird and even a little exhausting but I'm completely happy that way.  That being said, it's nice to put that away for a few minutes and do something unplanned.

Dress (worn as top)- Modcloth via Rachel via Flock Together
Skirt- Threadsence (remixed)
Shoes- Steve Madden
Flower crown- Positivum USA (won in giveaway)
Bracelets- Forever 21

This outfit was put together on a whim and completely out of left field.  Rachel of Floral Prints and Common Sense let me borrow this pretty yellow dress.  While she did let me know it was on the short side, I was a little stumped on how to make it work for my wardrobe.  I just grabbed the first thing that looked "matchy" and this maxi skirt was it.  I love the idea of wearing maxi skirts, have more than a few in my closet, but rarely wear them.  I wish I could tell you why!  I instantly fell in love with this combination and added a cute flower crown to tie it all in.  I guess being a little spontaneous once in awhile works in my favor :).

xoxo

  10. This colour combination is absolutely brilliant on you, love the citrusy colours!! Such a great maxi dress! I am definitely not a free spirit either, I used to find it incredibly difficult to "go with the flow" I'm a bit better at it now, but it still annoys me when I don't have a plan

  27. Simple yet chic, and you definitely look like a flower child :)

I'm the same way-- not being a free spirit-- and I love how confident you are in that! Sometimes I feel like I have to pretend or try being free-spirited when I much prefer organization and awareness even though some friends and family look down on me.

    Keep being you, girl!
