New Beginnings

stripeddress

Are you ready for the new year?  Honestly, 2013 does seem a little daunting for me.  Kevin and I are (supposed to be) planning a wedding for April or May.  We are looking to own a home before the end of the year.  Plus, we plan on starting a family soon after the wedding.  It just feels like so much change for one year!  While I may be a complete creature of habit, I'm looking forward to the change that is coming... as long as we do it one step at a time :)

Sorry if you get tired of my fit 'n flare dresses but they seriously consume my closet.  I first saw this on Jessica of Midwest Muse and I fell in love.  So when my friends gave me a Modcloth gift card for my birthday, this was the dress that I bought.  It was a surprise because Jessica's is blue striped and mine came in black.  It still has the nautical feel so it's a winner in my book!

Anyone have any super cool NYE plans?  I'm usually on call New Year's day so I tend to lay pretty low.  Although this year I'm off the hook!  I'm guessing I'll still want to stay local and do something low key anyway.  Regardless, I hope you have a safe holiday and a great new year <3

xoxo

  5. Love this look! Obsessed with your hair, the dress, and your shoes! It's perfect. I found your blog through a comment left on Midwest Muse :) So glad I did. Can't wait to see more posts from you in the future, pretty girl! Followed.

  6. you can never go wrong with black, white and red! I love the mixed prints too! I would be a little fearful of all your plans for 2013 as well. I got married two years ago and I don't plan on having youngins for a couple more years. I didn't exactly want to space everything out so much, but financially I don't think we could handle a baby yet LOL. Good luck with all of your plans though! I can't wait to see how it all unfolds on your blog :)

  10. I do love this in black! I'll send you my blue one sometime so you can have the full effect of the dress. These shoes have always been some of my favorites of yours. I'd wear them all the time! I always keep New Years low key. It's so much better than a huge party. Also, your christmas dinner sounded ridiculous! Sorry that it wasn't awesome like it should've been.

  12. I love fit and flare dresses. They are so flattering and comfy to wear too. I like that you've worn red here. I'm always a bit hesitant wearing red with my red hair, but it looks great on you here and the colour combo of red white and blue is so pretty.

Sounds like lots of changes for the New Year. I look forward to reading about them : )

  13. Can you ever go wrong with Fit and Flare dresses? Or with stripes? You look great!

Also- because I don't think I've mentioned it before your bangs are so cute!

Happy New Year. We're having dinner with my parents and then heading to the Eagle's for a dance (I sound more like we're fifty when I say we're going to an Eagle's Lodge but they've a GREAT dance floor!)
